A Greener, Cleaner Future

We’re excited to share some meaningful changes we’ve been making behind the scenes at OCD! As a cleaning brand based on the Cornish coast, protecting our oceans and environment is a responsibility we take seriously. That’s why we’ve made the decision to switch to eco-friendly cleaning products across all our properties. From now on, we’ll be using refillable bottles to reduce single-use plastic waste, and all our products are now chosen with the wellbeing of the planet — and people — in mind. 

The cleaning industry has a long history of relying on harsh, chemical laden products — many of which don’t even list their full ingredients. Our team is constantly exposed to these substances, and so are your guests. So we’ve taken action. It’s always been really important to us that properties smell incredible when guests walk in. Scent is one of the most powerful senses — and it plays a major role in whether a property feels truly clean. In the past, we’ve relied on fragranced products like Zoflora to create that instantly “clean” smell. But we now know that excessive use of synthetic fragrances can be harmful — potentially interfering with hormones, irritating the lungs, and affecting long-term health.

We believe we have a responsibility not only to “do no harm” but to actively do good, and for us, that starts with the switch to pure essential oils. We’re proud to say that we’ve been working closely with a local business, Bryluen Botanicals, to develop a signature scent for OCD using high quality, all-natural essential oils. This gentle fragrance is designed to make your property feel like a spa from the moment your guests walk in, helping them relax and feel instantly at ease. But we’re not stopping there… We’re currently collaborating with Bryluen to create a line of eco-friendly liquid soaps — using the same signature scent — with potential for hand lotions and shower gels too. This means you’ll soon be able to offer your guests a seamless, luxurious sensory experience throughout their stay. We’ll be in touch again soon with more details and pricing options, so you can decide whether you’d like to introduce these spa-inspired products into your property — and play your part in reducing single-use plastics and harsh chemical exposure for both guests and the planet.
